Anagama Unique Wall Sculpture by Beatrice Keleriene
This unique contemporary cubic sculpture by Beatrice Kelerienė in Vilnius (Lithuania) has been fired in a chamber kiln by the “Anagama” technique. The ancient Anagama technique of firing was born in China and from there arrived in Japan. The kiln is a brick chamber in which the wood fire will raise very high temperatures (up to 1400 degrees). The fire is maintained for more than 4 days and nights. The pieces are not glazed before firing. They get their subtile color variations by the reaction of the clay with the fire ashes and exposure for a long time to extreme temperatures. Every piece is therefore unique in its aspect and color.
The sculpture is one of its kind. It can be placed on a table or suspended as a wall sculpture.
Stamp of the ceramist visible underneath.
Dimensions: H 15 cm - L 15,5 cm - W 15 cm
