Henning Nilsson , born in 1907 in Välinge, was first a musician, a music teacher and and antique art dealer. After meeting the sculptor Robert Nilsson and the ceramist Signe Persson he discovered the world of stoneware and built his first kiln. He trained alone and with time he became a master in the “oxblood” glaze. In 1954 he moved to Höganäs, near the famous ceramic manufactory, where he started to fire his works.

This vase is a typical “oxblood” glaze piece of stoneware made for Höganäs Sweden
