Coffee set for 3 by Pierre Digan - La Borne - France in the 1960's

€150.00

Stoneware coffee set by the ceramist and sculptor Pierre Digan in his atelier in the village of La Borne (not far from Sancerre in the Loire area), in the 60’s and early 70’s. Pierre Digan used to produce daily use objects using a typical local chamotte clay and natural colours glazes. The pieces are marquesd with the typical palm, printed in the clay with a shell. The way of leaving parts of the pieces unglazed is typical of his work. Rough and beautiful, his works have today a very contemporary resonance.

The set includes three cups with saucer, one coffee pot with hood and one sugar bowl.

Dimensions:

Cups: H: 6 cm - Diameter 8,5 cm

Saucers: Diameter 12,5 cm

Coffee pot: H: 24 cm - Diameter 18,5 cm handle included

Sugar bowl: h: 8,5 cm - Diameter: 10 cm

Condition: good vintage condition, a small chip on the coffee pot hood
